Hi guys, i recently purchase a G74SX RH-71. Theres alttile problem with the system and i send it to Asus for repair. I was told that they change the motherboard for me.

Ok heres the problem. On my original motherboard i ran 3Dmark 11 on original Gpu settings 775/1550, my max Gpu temp would be around 60+ and on 850/1700 it would hit like 71-73 - at the end of the test.

After they "replace" the motherboard on 775/1550 (no overlocking done) temp would go into mid 80s. At 850/1700 highest temp was 93.

Did i get a recon or faulty mobo? should i go back to Asus ? Any clue? =/

Ps: i did a clean windows install with all updated drivers (296.10) with only Msiafterburner and 3Dmark11

Stress tests are meant to do just that. They'll often push your hardware more than any game.

i understand that furmark pushes the card/temp higher then regualar gaming. but what could be the cause that after changing the mobo my temps during gaming and 3dmark 11 increase by more 15-20 degrees?

i dont want to open new thread so i will ask here

can someone tell me what are the stock idle CPU/GPU temperatures of G73JH ? or when you repaste what are your readings ?
i am thinking if i need to repaste or wait still
my lappy is 1.5 years and the temperatures right now are
CPU around 48C (set from minimum 0% usage to maximum 100%)
    GPU - 50/57/56C @ 400/1000 MHZ idle

Mite_Jan these are my stats- machine only has IE open, been on for 1 hour ambient temp 20 Celcius. My 1.5 year old machine has ICD paste by Powernotebooks, temps have not changed since I got it :D
    GPU is 400/1000 @ .95V

Those are perfectly fine idle temps Mite_Jan it really depends on your loads because idle does not give a good reading as there is minimal heat being produced.

The common temperature theme goes keep it below 90oC max for a CPU and below 100oC max for a GPU but to make sure you prolong the life add a safety of 10oC so keep the CPU below 80oC and the GPU below 90oC. When they are flat out of course.

@JOSEA: I'm just curious about your GPU Clock set at 400MHz, I used the 93vBIOSa one and I get 405MHz on idle Plugged in and 300MHz on Battery mode. Are you using Chastity's fix_od2 VBIOS?

Most likely, Chas' vbios gives the following clocks: 150/100, 400/1000, 700/1000.
