    A.) What kind of overclock?
I can tell you meant GPU since you listed 2 clock speeds but you can overclock the CPU also.

    B.) Safe Setting?
No such thing, no two cards are alike, yours may go way higher or way lower than the norm. You have to test and find your own stable (safe) limit. Even after you find that point it can change without notice as time passes.

C.) How to make it permanent? Flash the new clocks to the GPU BIOS
Best program RBE to edit the bios, and ATI Flash to flash the bios.

If your new to things like this, I recommend you just use an overclocking tool like the AMD GPU Tool and software overclock. Save a profile and you can activate it within seconds when you boot the computer, no need to make it permanent. Im sure you dont need it overclocked 100% of the time anyways.

Yeah ok I will just make a profile. But really, the cpu can be over clocked to??

How would I go about this? And is playing games while over clocked a bad idea?

What are the risks of overclocking?

Sorry I am very new to this side of things.

    Cheers for the help.

As USMC said I do not see the point of always OC. And further if you have to ask even more concern. It takes me what a click or two to get my clocks at 800/1100? Not a a big issue. I do not want to surf the web with those clocks. I would consider UC.

setfsb can OC CPU but you must pay like $5 to get shareware version as far as I know. There are threads that describe how to.
