    How do you overclock G73JH 5870M?

    I tried using MSI Burner and the Asus GPU Tweak but they won't let me overclock my 5870M. How can I overclock the 5870M on my G73JH?

    yes I have updated my vbios and video drivers to fix the GSOD it still won't let me overclock in MSI Afterburner. Also I am unable to access ATI Overdrive from CCC.

    G73/74/53 Series Driver and Application Reference
    IF you used the Modded v93 vBIOS with lower timings for battery life (updated)
    you can OC through CCC --- AMD overdrive, that is what I use with 11.6 drivers
    Not all the modded VBIOS's that are posted here (on NBR) allow Overdrive, but I know this one does.

    BTW the site I mentioned is kept up to date and is great place for drivers, BIOS files , etc.

    I flashed my vbios using this guide:

    G73Jh GSOD Vbios Update

    Using this file:
    93vBIOSa.rar

    I CANNOT access AMD Overdrive in my CCC... There is no option in there.

    Which vBios should I flash to? To be able to Overclock?

    That guide is spot on, but I am not sure about that VBIOS file, I would try the one I linked above

    be patient, it seems to take 1 minute or so to connect for the download *at least it does on my SLOW dsl connection

    Either should unlock OD the OD2 is just for the lower battery timings or if you want to downclock while on AC power.

    Once done update your video drivers to the latest and then check in CCC.

    The link in my guide just takes you to Chastity Driver Page you will need to select the OD2 .93 vbios.

    Yup but if you have already flashed OD2 then you have the best.

    Is your Overdrive working now?

    I think when I set up the new server, I will merge OD2 into the original OD package, and just have the one download.
