Hi everyone, I'm currently looking for a high powered gaming pc on a budget. What really struck me as an amazing looking product was the Asus G53SX-A1.
    Asus G53SX-A1 15.6 I7-2630qm 12g 750g 7200rpmsyst Nv Gtx 560m2ggddr5 W7hp 2.0mp Bt Sm
One of the greatest positive aspects behind the laptop was that others claimed it wouldn't overheat. When I checked this forum everyone has been consistently criticizing the asus's 2mb 560m video card by saying it has a 128 bus (it's actually 192) how much will the bus "gimp" performance on the card? Will it be noticeable? What type of graphical changes or performance changes should I expect? Finally, considering all of this, are there any laptops which simply overwhelm this notebook in terms of performance(in this price range of course).

NO....it's actually 128 bit, the one for the Asus is not the typical GTX560. Look at the G53SW models.

I ordered a g53SW-a1 last week, should be arriving tomorrow. I you like I can give you some thoughts on how well it plays SC2 and BF3. The g53sw is cheaper and has the 192 bit bus, as opposed to the g53sx's (it does indeed have the 128 bit). The SW on the other hand has the less recent card, but in terms of performance it will still trump the gimped gtx560m in the SX. There are countless threads about this though, I had one myself a while back because I was considering going for the g53sx-a1 or one of the best buy g74s. Hopefully dallers or chastity or someone else can answer your question; I am by no means well-informed of anything computer related, I can only tell you facts without knowing what they mean. Essentially I can only give you empirical evidence (i.e testing games of different settings to compare fps readouts) once I get the laptop.
If you go for the G53sw-a1 (my suggestion) you can find it on several sites for $1049.99 (I got mine from excaliber pc). I had intended to go with xoticpc and have them pricematch the notebook (their price is something around $1150-1160 I believe) but they would only give me $20 towards the laptop. I could have gotten a cash discount if I paid with a check, but that's kind of a pain in my situation and it only brought the price to ~$1115. I'm a poor college kid so every penny counts; had to go with the cheaper price even though xotic may have better service and a free 4g RAM upgrade (not worth $70 btw).

tl;dr: The g53sx-a1 has a newer card than the g53sw-a1, but with the gimped 128bus in the SX, the gtx460m (192bit) of the SW will outperform the SX, and the differences in quality can be significant.

Does anyone know how a Sager np8130 with 560m 1.5g would compete with your standard g53SW-a1? I would think it would wreck the asus in terms of performance. Do Sagers overheat though? the g53SW-a1 seems like it has a pair of turbines at the back ready to blow out the fires of hell itself..

With the gtx560 you'll see about a 10% improvement. So yes its better, though blown away....that's a little too much. Now if you buy one with the 6990......
