Hey all,
I ask if the JW panel will go on a JH, because if the PQ is substantially superior, then I'd seriously consider buying the panel part if available and assemble it on my G73JH, then I could have the power of the 5870m with a nice 120hz panel![]()
The cases seem the same, but maybe there's something different in the hinges or similar that makes it a no go?
If not, and the reviews say it's a much superior panel, I'm going to try it if the part is available and shoot for it.
Thoughts?

AFAIK, the gpu needs a dual dvi connector to support 120hz panels. so the nvidia gpus and the 120hz panel in the jw series would probably have a different connector than the jh series

The initial JW model will not have a 120hz screen but the JW-3d will which comes out in November so maybe by then you can find the answer your looking for ..
@Kurt you would need Dual DVI for resolutions like my desktop screen@2560x1200 but just running a 120hz screen should work on all GPUs..
Whether the connectors on the motherboard are different for the screens on the new models we dont know yet but i guess we will find out more as time passes... -
When we get a full tear down of the new 120Hz panel then we should know. If the connectors are the same then I don't see why it would not work. ALso like said above Dual DVI is only for high resolutions. No need for any different cable design for higher Hz.
How feasible would it be to put the new 120hz G73JW panel on the G73JH?
