    Hello,

Currently when you press the "Fn+Down" the Media Center App starts and the control of the Media Center can be done with the Fn+Down = Play/Pause, Fn+Right > = Fast Forward, Fn+Left < = Reverse, Fn+Up = Strop.

Is there a way to change the application that these buttons control?

I am a Zune Owner/User and would like to be able to control the Zune Software with these buttons.

I thought that there might be a utility to change these controls as other notebook manufacturers provide, but I do not see it. Maybe I am missing it???

    Your help is highly appreciated!!!

    In Peace and Love,
    Trav...

Sounds dumb but, have you considered just mapping the hotkeys to CTRL+whatever in the zune app? That's what I did with winamp, it works even better since the right ctrl is right next to the arrows!

The Zune Software does not have any hotkey support. It relies on the keyboard control app to handle the play/pause etc etc etc.

Unless I don't understand what you mean. Is there a way within Win 7 to control the keyboard hotkeys?

    Thanks,

The ATK driver is managing the Fn + whatever functionality. It's a closed source compiled program and I don't think anyone has come up with a way to remap it. Some of us would like for it to open iTunes and others Zune. It isn't utilizing windows media controls or it would open the default media player. I think it's opening and controlling Windows Media Center through a COM interface. :(

    Hello Jody,

I was figuring that might be the case, because of the use of the Fn+ function. I was hoping maybe someone had discussed this before. I will talk to some developers on Monday, to see what might be done with the Fn+ functions. I can only really work with my companies use of the Fn+, on their notebooks, but maybe it will get me into the ASUS use as well. Can't say as to how far I get, as this code may be under lock-n-key, so to speak.

    Thanks again,

    In Agape,
