    Hi

I have just ordered a g53jw laptop. Can anyone talk me through how to create a set of recovery dvds? Thanks.

I forget if it was a desktop shortcut or not, but one of the default programs will be a utility called AI Recovery. It was very straightforward. It required 5 DVDs.

Now that I've done a complete wipe of the OS and drive partitions, if I were to make a system image I'd probably do so using Windows 7. (Control Panel > Backup & Restore > Create a System Image) Now that I have a ton of stuff installed it would likely require a significant amount of space so I'd probably use a USB drive.

    :) Great, Thanks!

P.S. Does it make any difference if I use Dvd-r or Dvd+r?

I use Memorex DVD-Rs and I've yet to have an issue, but I don't burn tons of stuff. I also tend to turn the burn speed down - probably superstition more than anything.
