    Hello all,

I just purchased a new G53SW-A1 and it did not come with a Windows 7 installation disc. I made the recovery disc upon startup as prompted, but my HDD is 750GB and i'm trying to now install Windows onto a 60GB Corsair Force 3 SSD in its place. So, the recovery disc won't work because it's an image of the larger hard drive currently in my G53. What do I do? Windows won't let me shrink the main partition down smaller than 160GB, so cloning doesn't seem to be working right now. I dont want to go spend 100 bucks on Windows 7 since I already own it. Any ideas?

(One thing I couldn't get to work is Acronis Migrate Easy 7. I tried True Image Home 2012, but their cloning function is disabled on trial mode, so i uninstalled that and tried to get Migrate but it errors out saying newer components are already installed from True Image, even though I uninstalled it and deleted its folders.)

Thanks! How do I use that "activation"? Is it a file I use to activate Windows 7? It sounds like something I'd use alternatively to an actual serial key. I was thinking I'd have to find the serial somewhere, though I don't know where it would be.

On the link there's a note near the top that links to a program that backups your activation and reactivate it on the new install so you don't have to put in the serial key.

Look for the section that details ABRbeta. You'll need that program to backup your windows activation. Make sure to backup to another hard risk or flash drive.
