I am sending in my G73 after recurring issues which appear to be common. How did you all package your G73s?
I bought a packing box to send the original laptop box in, but I want to be sure I get my original box back (with the serial # & everything, it helps w/resale value one day when I get rid of it on ebay). Will they return the original box with the laptop? Or should I just put the laptop and power supply into my packing box surrounded by foam and keep the original box at home?

The only way to ensure you'll get to keep your packaging is to not send it at all.
FWIW, I sent mine in twice using the original packaging (Asus G73 box surrounded by another heavy cardboard box from PowerNotebooks.com). Both times I got the original packaging back. -
I've RMA'd twice and sent it in the original boxes it came in. Both times they sent it back the same way. I have about 3 layers of the asus tape and a couple layers of my own on that box now.

If you're shipping it, they'll keep costs as low as possible and reuse your packing material.
If you're dropping it off, they'll preserve space and toss the packaging. So don't take any in. -
I got an RMA number email after calling and it says I have to pay to send the package.
Is this a typo because the promo says free two way shipping?
Also I cant find anywhere on their website that it says to include the power supply. -
I called ASUS back and told them about the 360 warranty that includes free shipping.
They scheduled a pickup with fedex for tommorow, but they never told me if I had to create a shipping label or weather fedex will have one when they arrive.
Anyone know how this shipping works? -
- If you want to go to a FedEx location, then you have to pay for it.
Only in the USA do they give you a shipping label to print to bring to a FedEx location. This is ground shipping only. I believe with pickup you can actually choose overnight shipping and have Asus pay for that, so IMO it's better.
You do have to provide your own packaging though. So you still have to buy your own box, and tape and get that laptop ready for RMA. -
Thanks for the help -
Thanks everyone for your help. I bought a box, made a cardboard frame around the computer and filled it with packing foam. The box could be dented 3" in any direction and still not touch the laptop. My RMA was delivered today.
