    Hello all,
Just got the G73JW-3DE and have a few questions about the 3d stuff :)

    1. There is a link to a 3D demo on the desktop, when opened it opens in Windows Media Player and just shows a video with 2 identical screens next to each other. Pressing the 3d vision button does nothing and the video looks normal witht he exception of have 2 of the same thing.

    2. The 3d slideshow of pictures works well. Is there a way to make my own pictures 3d? I see on the nvidia side people ar uploading their own photos and was wondering how it is done.

    3. Will this make normal blue ray and dvd movies 3d? or must the movie be made specifically for 3d?

    4. Same as above, but for games. Will it make any game 3d or only those specifically made for 3d?

    Thanks

I still don't have my 3D working. I received my laptop on the 24th. Warning, In a matter your laptop will undergo major problems. But don't worry everyone else has those problems too.

#1-use cineplayer to play the demo
#3-upgrade to powerdvd 10 ultra which allows you to watch 2d DVD movies in 3d

There are no "major" problems on this laptop. It's usually the owners that causes problem on it. ;)

Really? Seems like you want everyone who wants to purchase and/or owns a G73Jw-3D to feel the same way as you. I am very happy with my laptop yes sometimes you can get the lemon of the bunch. If you happen to have one, turn it in and move on. Give helpful advice please.

Well the cineplayer allows you to play 3d blu rays for g73-3de ... i just watched shrek 3d on that. One more thing I also updated the cineplayer which comes bundled with the laptop with the latest one using the update option within the app. One more thing we dont need powerdvd to watch 2d to 3d conversio ... cineplayer does that fine for me ... with the embedded 3d conversion support... you have to enable 3d in cineplayer settings though.

The update went smooth ... played an hour of Team Fortress 2 without any issues ... also tested quick 3d demo 3d video with cineplayer. Till now everything seems fine. Will keep an eye over next few days for any issues if they occur.

Nice to know that. One question as I am new to this forum ... what is +rep for (sorry for if this has already been answered somewhere else  ).

Also you mentioned your videos are not working yet ... if you want to share your problem ... please let me know. I did tested with both early in morning with cineplayer - both 3d movies and normal 2d to 3d conversion videos are working for me.

"+rep" is short for reputation. You can see how many you have below your name.

I meant the 3D videos on 3D Vision Live. They split into 2 screens.

    Other than that, all works.
