I hated my matte screen on the G75VW so ASUS is replacing it with a G75VX in a few days free of charge (very nice gesture)

They said they don't have any glossy screen laptops in stock so the one they are giving me is the G75VX with the 3D Panel but according to them is also a matte screen

correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that all 3D Screens in ASUS laptops are glossy non-matte

what am I to expect? a Glossy 3D Screen or a matte 3D screen if this even exists?

First if you have non 3D Version of g75vw then you cant replace screen With 3D Version one as they have different Connectors. Second there are both glossy and matte 3D screens I have matte 3D Version.

I dont get this matte screens, they look so ugly and pale in color compared to the Glossy ones and these are considered an upgrade? am I missing something here?

What the ASUS service centre tried to do here in Dubai is to replace my matte screen with a glossy screen, they tried 2 times and failed so when they finally decided to put back my original matte screen, it appeard that my motherboard was fried.

Since they didnt have any G75VW motherboards they decided to replace my G75VW with a brand new G75VX 3d/matte screen free of charge

I wish i had a glossy screen i want one so bad

I would never choose a glossy screen if I had a choice. The only time I would opt for a glossy screen (Which would never happen) is when I know the laptop would never leave a dark room.

Matte screen is practical all times. Glossy screen is glorious for only a short moment.

hmmm, seems like the Matte screen is the better option from what I am hearing here and on the ROG forums but everytime I look at a glossy screen it looks so much crisper and easier to read :(

Like I said, glossy screens is glorious for a short moment. The screen is gorgeous. I don't think anyone disputes that. But it is not really practical. The glares you get from any kind of additional light sources will make you want to throw it away if you intent to use it for a long time.

I have a window in my room and in its opposite direction I have my desk set. When I had a glossy screen laptop on the desk, I could not see a damn thing on my screen during daylight. When I also took it outside, half of screen was reflecting environment.

What good is goold color and crispiness if you can't see it? It's really good in dark environment though.

Btw I had both matte 3D 120hz screen and glossy 60hz and matte was better in any aspect to me.
But I guess its just personal preference.
