    Hi All,

Glad to see fellow G73jH gamers tweaking their rig. I followed the instructions for the sound drivers replacement per /THeMarkness's instructions. Thanks to TheMarkness for putting that together, However I have such messed up video drivers,

I cannot even get Furmark to Launch.

It says failure to launch ZoomGPU, what are the current video drivers that are working. Asus website for drivers lists the latest drivers from ATI, and I installed the ASUS copies, however I am very sure, that I would rather do a total driver re-installation. Crazy thing is that most of my games have no problem with Video issues.

Yeah I got the latest drivers from AMD, yesterday, when I ran into this site and figured out here is where i need to be to stop wasting time.

Why would I upgrade my Video Bios? I don't have any wierd artifact crashes, I just get a complete Shutdown, screen goes black, hd runs for the remainder of the minute and then silence. she's dead captain.

I also think this model is hosed because the back left fan port is never blowing hot air, in fact the right is always doing all the work. and the left fan is debatable if it is working. I upgraded my bios to 211 yesterday and thought that would solve the fan problem. If i have to send back , I will buy some paste and ask them to re-thermal paste when they are in there.

    Thanks,
    hajji

Why update vBIOS? It may (and probably will) fix that crash that's occurring, especially when using newer drivers than the stock drivers.

The fan issue sounds normal. The GPU fan is generally more active as CPU usage generally isn't too high. Find some software that really works the CPU (e.g. PrimeNet) and you should see increased CPU fan activity.

thanks for answering my questions, its much more easier than getting tech support on the phone at home.

And I am happy to report that flashing vbios was a success and it seems more stable.
