I'm tempted to buy tho laptop and sell my macbook pro. However I would like to know a few things. You see I came from the G73, which had a few problems, over all the track pad. If you search my posting history you can catch all the drama... lol

I thought I would never really come back to Asus, however there was a very helpful person on this forum that helped me in my time of need and represented Asus to the fullest! So with a $900 price tag I taking another look!

I want to know how the track pad is... on the macbook pro, it's amazing! Simply can not be beat, so I'm spoiled! Is the trackpad roomy, does it work well? Any multi touch available? (not like the g73) lol

Also, any known bugs? BSOD? Like all the over mumbo jumbo from the G73? Or will this thing work right out of the gate?? Also, the screen on the G73 was bland, to say the least. The Macbook pro screen is very bright and vibrant, even thought it no where near the resolution of the asus, is the G53SX-XT1 screen better, more color, brighter? Last thing, is battery just for serving the web, what kind of time am I looking at? That's really all i wanna know..

    Thanks :)

the trackpad is only slightly larger than a 14 inch laptop... the buttons are horrible... it gives out quite a loud sound when press and requires some force to push it... but i did come across other unit that comes wit the trackpad that is not loud and not so stiff...
U only usually get BSOD when a program is not compatible... i cant comment on the screen coz i don really care bout it as long as it displays colour images... hav not try out the battery though....

If a gimped 560m (128bit, 8 rops, instead of the full 192bit, 24 rops) doesnt bother you (because its performance is like...meh) then go for it.

Be sure you're not looking at the full gtx560m card because that's the most common error everybody does.
The g53sx has a gimped card which means that has half potential compared even to the older gtx460m.

Now take into account that even with newer games the full gtx560m has problems with keeping eye candy and framerates (skyrim,bf3,witcher 2, so on) unless you heavily overclock it around 900mhz barrier.

The "gimped" (or watered down, cut down, why you prefer) basically is around 20-30% slower than a stock gtx460m.
To reach stock gtx460m performance you need to rely at least on 900mhz/1600 overclock.

IMHO the g53sx is a total phail. With much less money you could get a g53sw with the gtx460m and call it a day. The gtx460m with a standard oc like 800/1600/1600 gives nice performance and will lasts longer.

So unless you're deeply convinced with the laptop or/and your budget is below 1000$ I'd say stay away from the g53sx which is a pointless investment into gaming.
The g53sw is still way above it.
