Kinda upset because I just got it back from RMA in october! Anyways I had my laptop open running msn while I was gaming on my 360, I turned around and saw my laptop was off. Tried to turn it on and it doesn't power on so I checked to make sure the AC adapter was fine and it was so I tried powering it on with no battery just AC and still black. Any idea if this can be fixed, last RMA was 26 days :(

    i second that Blade

sorry man that must suck sending it back, make sure it not a motherboard failure. i know hp's dv 5000's suffer from that ever since hp has been going down hill. Then again, this isn't a HP, pfft! Blade is right RMA it and see if they can send you a loner in the mean time.

If that makes it any better?

If it turned off for thermal protection, it won't power back on for a few minutes.

Strange. Another G73 committing suicide for no clear reason. Can you open up the service bay and see any obvious damage?

You'll have to RMA it, I don't think there's much you can do. If you have the option, take out your HDD and see if you can transfer any important files to another machine.

So today I called Asus and love them so much after they made me do a step I did not take. Unplug the power cord, remove the battery, and hold the power button for 10 seconds performing a hard reboot to the motherboard. After that when I put the battery back and plugged the ac cord in I noticed a light come on then the whole thing booted up. Excited beyond belief right now.

Did you say it turned on when you plugged the AC in?

no no the AC was plugged in the whole time thinking it may have been a battery related problem. The trouble shooting steps had me unplug the battery and AC cord, hence the plug back in

I think you mis-understood my question.

After you unplugged it and went trough the troubleshooting steps, when you plugged it back in, did the machine start up on its own?
