    It's just standard G53JW-A1 US version with 120GB SSD + 750GB 2nd Drive

No Blu-Ray, but I'm going to sell it with Razer Deathadder mouse + Razer mouse mat & ASUS backpack.

No cosmetic damages & used around 3 months.

reason for sale is i want to buy more powerful SAGER.

Is it possible to get £1100? Because standard set-up costs me around £1300 without SSD or Razer mouse/mat.

Gotta be lower than that. Its around 1400US for a stock Asus. Translate that and it comes to 800 pounds. That means paying a 300 pound premium for a 120GB SSD, mouse and mousepad. Most people will have their own mouse and pad and the backpack is just a freebie. I would suggest sub 1000. Maybe 900 poundish. The moment you fired up that laptop, resale value plummeted.

I disagree apart from myself who got lucky and picked up my JH for 600GBP on ebay I have seen in the last week 2 G73JH's BB versions being sold for 1000GBP I couldnt believe my eyes.

UK prices are very high compared to the US because of our poor pound rate and the high amount of taxes we have to pay on items, you can always import but you run the risk of getting caught out at customs unless you declare it cheaply but still its risky.

The cheapest G53JW on Ebay in the UK at the moment is 1400 brand new. See for yourself - HERE So second hand with an SSD 1100-1200GBP you will pull off easily.

    LOL at our prices.

That's exactly why I'm thinking about 1100GBP. $1500 + Shipping and VAT 17.5% costs me roughly 1300 when i brought this thing last december. To be honest I declared low value but difference is like 100GBP after Fedex add their admin fees....

Only problem for me is i registered with ASUS for warranty. Will it cause any trouble if buyer got any HW problem?

    Firstly I'd say you're comparing a 17" G73JH to the orignal poster's 15" G53JW-A1, hardly a fair comparison.

And I can see at least half a dozen brand new G53JW-A1 latops for ~1000 (pounds) on eBay - WITH Blu-Ray

    ASUS G53JW-A1 i7-740QM 1.5G GTX 460M 6GB RAM FHD BLURAY | eBay UK

I'd be surprised if this would fetch 900 max, and even with a "used" SDD drive that you can get new for under 200 bucks now.

Pretty much they same as everything else these days, like cars, the price of this thing crashed the second you open the box. :(

Don't know how you calculated value but 1400USD=9XXGBP + you have to pay nearly 200USD for shipping and around 150-300GBP customs tax (Depend on your declared value). Not to mention clearance charges from the shipping company.

You do realise the item you just linked is from the US? The OP clearly listed that he is in the UK and is selling in the UK hence my link relates to items only in the UK which do not suffer our customs tax of 20% meaning people pay more to get it inland.

The G73 is very much a fair comparison because here the G53 actually sells for more than the G73 because they are harder to get hold of, very few of these laptops are sold over here especially second hand. If the G73JH can sell for 1000GBP on Ebay he will have no problem at all catching that or slightly more for the JW version of the G53.

If you brought from US they have to pay (Item price+Shipping)x20%vat and shipping company admin charge. So basically with his link landing cost will be around 1250GBP.

That sounds about right 1250gbp, now you have added 20% + shipping, but still thats not so bad for a brand new item.

depending on what a buyer is looking for, would they pay ~1100 used, or ~1200 brand new.

Given that the condition of any used item is always unknown, regardless of what the seller might say.

Not that I'm doubting the seller, but you never know how an item has been treated regardless of visual condition.

Has it been over clocked, does it have some custom/hack bios/vbios, has it been taken apart, has it ever been repaired.. who knows.

We already know the item has been taken apart on some level, and had the hard drive replaced.

We don't know what precautions the user took regarding static precautions and safe handling and installation of these parts.

I'm not flaming the post before you all start ranting, the seller asked for an opinion on price, and I'm giving it.

Regardless of this being available for purchase in the US or the UK, we can debate prices, exchange rates, taxes, and customs all day.

The point is, I don't personally believe it's worth 1100 for a used latop, when the new price is only ~1200-1300.
