Does anyone know exactly what the fix was in the new VBIOS?

I heard it was a timing adjustment but I could be wrong. Has Gary explained what it actually did?

The exact changes are confidential and were not divulged to beta testers.

My question is this, do all (most) ATI 5870 mobile graphics cards suffer from this problem?

I remember seeing someone say they had an MSI vBios fix, and another one said they had a Clevo one. What's up with this? Is this an ASUS specific problem with the use of that card, or everyone?

Asus vBios was and still is a lemon (MSIs and Clevos always worked fine, they just released an update to give their users better powerplay), and Asus also uses inferior parts (wider PCB with less layers, cheapest coils they can find...) to make their GPUs...
    Does that answer your question?

So I guess my laptop is a piece of then. Sounds like it was made with a bunch of scrap parts from around the factory or something.

I guess I'll buy elsewhere next time....
