Is this the wireless card I would replace the WA in my ASUS G73jh with?
    "Intel Advanced-N 6200 Wireless Half PCI-E Card 300M"
If not could anyone specify the right one to buy?
Also how is the installation? Easy and straight forward?

You'll spend more time placing the order than you will installing the card. You pop off the access plate on the bottom (two phillips screws). You gently remove the two antenna wires from the card. You remove the two phillips screws holding it down. It pops up from it's spring loaded slot to about a forty-five degree angle. You lift it out and pop the new one in there. The install/removal works just like a stick of RAM except it is screwed down with a couple of phillips screws instead of just clipping in.

Cool. I don't think NewEgg in the USA has it either. I had to RMA my laptop in November. I took the 6200 out before RMA so it wouldn't get lost. I broke one of the antenna connectors on the 6200 because I was in rushing to get it boxed and to FedEx before they closed that day. :( In December I ordered a replacement for my damaged 6200. The order got canceled and refunded with a message about it being back ordered or out of stock.

Yea I always hear about people getting extra's on their laptops misplaced when they send it in, did you just put the old atheros card in?
Also how much of a difference in signal strength did you notice when you switched to the 6200?

If you bought it off eBay I hope you didn't get an engineering sample. I bought one on eBay and it didn't work. The seller refunded my money though. Chastity's provantage has a great price on it though. eBay was a total waste of time for me. All the good priced ones are engineering samples.

Just remember that your router needs the have wireless-N 300mb/s to take advantage of the card.

This card will greatly increase files transfers and connections on your LAN.

It will NOT increase your internet speed or wireless range.

For me, I went from getting drop outs all the time to absolutely none at all. And my latency has improved tremendously. Running DPC Latency Checker before with the Atheros card, it would get spikes in the 4000-5000+ range. Now, 99.9% of the time I'm in the green with it staying well under 500.

Not sure what to blame on the Atheros card, the card itself or the driver, but buying the 6200-N was the best $28 I spent on my laptop.

You probably want to switch to tomato, anyways. A) The graphic layout is much cleaner, and more importantly, B) The code isn't a spaghetti mess - also quite nice and clean.

Well... the 6200 card didnt fix my issues, but it does work better, plus I get 5ghz now :p

There is WAY too much congestion in the 2.4ghz spectrum to make a difference around my house... I'm tempted to install backtrack on my second drive and nudge people over to a channel that doesn't interfere with me! I probably won't cause I am too lazy, but its frustrating when people sit on channel 3 and 9, blasting out wifi signals and causing interference on 2/3 non-overlapping channels in the 2.4ghz spectrum... is it really THAT hard to setup a wifi network at home... I know I am a network engineer, but come on people!

    Compare the specs!

The 6200 is capable of twice the bandwidth, can use the 5GHz band as well as the 2.4GHz band, and many find it more reliable with less latency.

Whether there's an advantage for you or not depends on what you're using it for and what kind of router you connect to.

I'd stay away from eBay. Most of the 6200's sold on there are "ES" samples, and do not work. I myself have bought one from eBay, and it was a non-working ES version. It was a complete waste of time. The seller did refund my money, and I ended up buying a brand new genuine card one from a member of this site in the sales section here. I'd recommend buying from a retail shop/e-shop like newegg.com, amazon.com, provantage.com, etc.

I just searched to find the for sale section for the WiFi cards, and it appears that person, for whatever reason, is not allowed to sell here anymore.

Engineering sample, not meant for resale. Sort of like an internal beta testing sample unit. I wouldn't buy it, get a real one from Provantage or some place like that. That's what I did.

The price difference between the used one off ebay and a new one from a local retailer is minimal at best. Stick to a retailer to insure you are getting a proper module.
