    Heya,

Im trying to find the clock generator ID for SetFSB for this processor. Im using an Asus G73SW.

Ive been reading thread after thread on overclocking, but theres so many different opinions on what programs to use, its rather confusing.

I plan on using SetFSB and CPUz for monitoring. Any tips would be great. Im just looking to squeeze a little more juice, nothing extreme.

    Thanks
    Andy

As far as I known non extreme edition of sandy bridge CPUs cannot be overclocked.

There is currently no facility that can overclock the 2620QM SETFSB wont work. Throttlestop you can control some features but currently the only way to overclock a Sandy is to use an XM model (2920XM). Intel have begun locking things nice and tight so that an upgrade is required instead of an overclock. I seem to remember a post by unclewebb mentioning that even with the 2920XM if the BIOS is still locked Throttlestop cannot even get to work on those either. I am happy to stick my 920XM for a good while as it seems the 920/940 could be the last in a line of xtreme adjustabilty.

    Ok thanks guys,

So other than throttlestop, just leave everything the way it is? Is there anything in the bios as far as Turbo features go that would help me?

With your processor the multipliers/bios will be locked to x15 I believe there is little you can do to increase the power. To be honest you dont really need to at this point as tests have shown the 2620XM is on par with the stock 940XM. Which is like cookie dough ice cream. Awesomesauce.

Sorry I cant help you with that as I dont have one but I dont think there is anything that you can change to increase power as the multi's are locked I think throttlestop can only be used to adjust advanced settings for software performance or fix issues.
