    Hey guys,

Need some help. I just installed a clean copy of windows 7 on my ssd and moved my hdd to secondary bay in my new g53sx. However, I'm running into problems with Intel Rapid Storage Technology. I've uninstalled the driver under the device manager and through control panel -> uninstall programs. However, I still see the little icon on the bottom right, saying "Intel RST service is not running." Then, I check services.msc for intel RST, and I can't start "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified."

I've tried to reinstall the driver using the setup.exe (version 10.8.0.1003). However, I run into the following error: "The setup program failed to install one or more device drivers." at the Version:10.8.0.1003 step.

    Please help!

I'm also having this problem on my G74SX. In fact, it's repeatable. Once I uninstall IRST for the first time, it won't allow me to reinstall it again unless I do another clean install of Windows. I think something is going wrong during the uninstallation of the driver because I notice the Control Panel icon for IRST still remains after the uninstall has completed. Any ideas?

Well, I uninstalled because I was troubleshooting my hard drive and trying to see if IRST was the culprit.

Someone recommended in another forum to uninstall the Intel RST drivers and then disable your internet connection before you restart your computer - otherwise Windows will just download it and install it again, automatically.

But it looks like you may have to reinstall Windows again :(
