I just bought a Intel X25-M G2 80GB SSD at best buy because it was on clearance. It said it was 200 but was marked 50% off so i figured it was a good time to nab an SSD for my gimped BST6 so I could at least have something good in it. I know its dated but was it a good buy?

$100 for a 80GB Intel SSD is a good price. While the drive is no longer made it still has a great read speed of 250MB/s. Once you install it and get it up and going you'll be happy to upgraded to an SSD

Just a word of advice Read the fine print on the SDD, Best Buy Miss-Marketed the 25-M as the lower model, I caught it when i went and got mine in January.
All in stock, Model numbers and Online prices said 25-M but they where in fact the V model ( Don't quote me on the model letter I think it was the V not sure though , just that they did up price the lower model saying it was the higher one)

I did a fresh install of Windows 7 ult and it is sooo much faster no doubt. much better than the stock 7200RPM drive that I had. Ill just use it for storage. Got a read speed of 253 on CrystalDiskMark so it seems to be working as it should. Also thanks JOSEA for the Link, im sure it will help. Im pretty certain that I have a X25-M it identifies as such and the benchmarks confirm it so im pretty sure it is.Thanks for the heads-up though.
