When I order my G73jW-3DE from Xotic I remove the Bluray drive and wanted a dvd drive instead for 100 dollars less. I regret it now and wanted to upgrade my dvd drive into a bluray drive. I've look into External Bluray Drive but was wondering if there is any internal Bluray Drive for notebook? Also would the upgrade be hard too? I've upgrade dvd drive to bluray drive on desktop but never on notebook.

Most common Slim/notebook SATA ODDs should work. For example, the stock one that came with mine is the LG CT21N.

Swapping is relatively simple - two screws to get inside, one screw to release the ODD. You may need to or want to use the existing faceplate on the new drive...

I've had mine in and out about four or five times. The faceplate comes off easily but it looks pretty delicate. It is probably pretty easy to break the clips if you put any kind of pressure on it.

I have a Sony Opti Arc that I bought used and it works very well.
