Hi there guys i use xiliosoft video converter to convert my videos. In the process it uses 100% cpu and temp shoots upto 90C then remain at 88 after fan kicks in. i just wanna know if its safe?

Those temps are safe, but on the higher side for the G750 series. They usually have pretty good cooling in them. Have you cleaned out your vents and fans of any dust that may be built up over time. Open up the bottom to do that which makes sure you're getting the best air flow you can.

Thanks Hutsady i will do that. How should i clean the fans?

Can of compressed air is the best way. Be sure not to let the fans freely spin while you do this. Place something in the blades like a pencil. -
I have tried some canned sprays. Sometimes some liquid also comes out when i spray it.

If you hold it upside it will, so do not do that. Always hold it upright and move the computer around as needed so the can stays upright.amir786_z likes this. -
Thanks Hutsady i will keep that in mind.

There's an option in xilliosoft to set no of cores for conversion. Is it safe that 5 6 cores run at max and 2 3 cores remain idle.?

You can do that but it will take a lot longer to run.

One option is heat other is slow. So i will go with slow.

A repaste and and clean would help you run cooler and faster. An undervolt tweak would help even more.

What is undervolt tweak?

Lowering the processor voltage to reduce the amount of heat generated at a given clock. Most CPUs have a fair amount of headroom at stock before they become unstable. It does require some time and patience to test though.

Xtu and Trottlestop

Thanks i will check that out.

Just go in small steps, find where it gets unstable and then back off a bit to leave a safety margin.
