    Hello,

I need a reliable notebook manly for programming (and a bit gaming), so IMHO a gaming notebook is, somehow, sturdy and robust for any application.

I've been thinking to get a G73JH-X1 or a HP DV7-4080, I know they aren't in the same notebook category, but I need a durable notebook with 17" screen and the both fit.

I was dissuaded, a bit, to buy an ASUS after reading some posts, about flashing the bios and vbios, GSOD, PSODs. And I've been wondering if it is imperative to follow those steps, or can I use the notebook normally w/o doing them?

    Thanks
