I have a G73JH and it's been randomly giving me BSODs. Never seems to be dependent on how much load there is, and it most often happens when I'm not even around and come back to it. I've updated all my drivers and bios.
I ran Furmark today for about 15 minutes and the GPU topped out at 90c. I'm encoding a movie right now and the CPU cores are all around 80c. Both idle around 50c.
What's my problem? Is that too much heat, and is heat at idle causing a problem? Thanks!

Have you updated your vBios. See the sticky on GSOD.

As for the BSODs, any specific errors to indicate what specifically is causing the BSODs? Wireless drivers maybe? Video drivers maybe? There was a period where the 10.11 and 11.1 drivers caused BSODs. -

I couldn't make any sense of anything from any of the error messages. Sometimes it does a ram dump, other times not. I looked at the system event log from right before crashes and couldnt find anything useful there either.
I installed the latest version of every driver Asus had listed about a month ago. I'll have to check which video drivers I have when I get home.
I guess I don't know what a vBios is. Do you mean this? http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...1-gsod-fix-g73-owners-vbios-update-guide.html If I can't use the HDMI or VGA that's not really an option. Is there an official update?
I did read through your thread before DCx, and I guess now I'm comfortable with my temps. Glad I didn't leave it at Best Buy yesterday.
Thanks for the help! -
check out my signature (tutorial) for bios and vbios. However, I don't think this will help your bsod since the vbios is suppose to fix gsods, not bsods but its a start. If it doesn't fix it, I recommend reinstalling windows, set it to no updates, then install sp1 right after, then turn on updates (thx to chastity).

For you BSODs, Windows by default should save a dump file when it crashes (try looking in C:\Windows\Minidump). If you can post the dump file(s) so we can look at them, then maybe we can narrow down which system component is crashing... -
Here's the latest dump file I found. Still checking out the vbios.
Edit: Eh.. didn't attach. -
Seems like the last weeks a lot of people have heat problems... (including me)

Guess it didn't like the extension. Here we go. Rename to .dmp

Try running this MemTest for Windows Download Page just to rule out the possibility of a bad ram stick/s.
It very well may be something else, but it sounds like a prob I've run in to on my desktop recently which ended up just being 1 bad stick. -
As others have said, your temps are good, that is not your problem. Until proven otherwise, I believe your problem is your vBios. Here is how to check if it is up to date or not.
The vBios which came with your G73 are most likely not the most current. To check right click anywhere on your desktop and select "Catalyst Control Center". On the top left corner of this window select "Graphics" then "Information Center". Then select "Graphics Hardware". Look at your BIOS Version. If it doesn't say 012.020.000.032, then you should update. If does say 012.020.000.032, then go to the next step. If you are using Catalyst 11.1 or higher, you will need to scroll down to "Information", select "Hardware" and scroll down to see the BIOS version. You can also hit F2 when booting up your computer to enter the BIOS, under vBios it should say 012.020.000.032.something, as long as the those are the 1st 12 digits you are good. -
My iddle is 70° - 75° and when running bulletstorm it goes for the 100°...
Guess I should repaste to ?

Is my G73 too hot or is it something else?
