Asus G72 Able to Play empire total war and napoleon on high to max settings ?

I was basing this off the G73 that can max it easy as forum members have displayed.

However you would certainly think that a GTX 260M equal to a 9800GT would max it ? Am i correct ?

And for the + side of things it has 2 cores dual cores at 2.5 GHZ.

    And a massive 6GB of drr2.

IMO i don't see what would hold it back the GPU should blow the frames easy however it seems i may be wrong ?

Can anyone with experience with the G72 CONFIRM THE FPS RATE OR PLAY RATE OF THIS MACHINE ?

Just bought the G72 GX over ebay by the way this is why i am certainly curious.

RTS games along with MMORPGs are heavy on the CPU, often more so than the GPU.

I would think that with a P8600 core 2 duo and a GTX260 that empire total war should be quite playable at high settings. The CPU will be taxed and while it is slightly outdated by todays standards(such is the life in this industry) it should still pull enough weight to play your games fluidly. This is especially true if you got the G72 that has the lower res screen, if you have the 1920 x 1200 screen on really large maps where there are a lot of things to render on the screen you might see your frame rates drop a bit. You should be able to tweak a few settings here or there to make it playable while still looking pristine.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you very much +Rep to both of you.

Could you help me again ?

Could i later replace my CPU TO A Quad Core 9000 ? or something on them basis ?

I was eager to rip this baby apart and fiddle with it until i see that of its gaming quality i never wanted to.

But just off the mark can it be upgraded ? Thanks very much.

I was also wanting to find out if i could upgrade the GPU to in years to come i guess it would be pointless correct ?

Sorry for the late reply, but yes the G72gx-a1 that we sold came with the q9000 originally so i do know that it can be done for sure. Just be careful that you dont buy an engineering sample and assume there is a warranty or anything with it. Too many of them floating around right now. Cheap, but no support from Intel at all. Getting to the CPU on that laptop is also easy as well. It is right under the access panel. Q9000 + tube of IC diamond + 10 min = done.

If the G72Gx came with a Core 2 Duo, there's only little/no chance to upgrade to a Quad.
