    Is the C2Q q9550 compatible with asus g51vx-a1?

    Thats a simple question, i just need to know if they are compatible, or if not, which c2q are, besides q9000

    Probably since it has a 1333mhz FSB (and the notebook supports 1066mhz max).

    I don't know if they will work, but here are some that are mobile quads:
    Q9100 (I think all of these are extreme, I have seen 2 guys use throttlestop to OC around 3ghz).
    Q9200 (confirmed extreme, again throttlestop can OC them).
    QX9300 (confirmed extreme, and again throttlestop can OC them).

    I would get the Q9100 since you can find OEM ones and I think they are extreme. If I'm wrong about all of them being extreme (I can prove that at least 2 are, both ES), then you should probably get the Q9200.

    I don't know if they will work with your notebook though.

    The Q9550 is a desktop chip and needs a LGA775 socket. The processors listed above are your best bet. Get the fastest :)
