Title.
Upon browsing several websites, it seems that the G73 is the only top tier Asus laptop that's under 1600$. All the others such as he g51 are quite outdated in terms of Vcards.

Yes. The notebook will definitely start feeling little heavier on your lap when gaming for hours.

i have a lapdesk I use this one A LapTop Desk With Potential ? The Gadgeteer you can get it at best buy.... its awesome, i sit outside on my patio and game for hours. obviously with it plugged in... No heat to worry about, has a mouse pull out and a nice little cup holder for my beer to sit in hahahaha... yeah no problems at all!! every g73 owner should ge2t this it fits it perfectly..... and the mouse pull out is sturdy enough for hours of gameplay... this is definatly a must buy for ppl who like chillin outside with there lappys for long periods, and it helps with the heat on your legs,,, hahah i dont know about u guys but without this lapdesk i get the sweatiest legs ever if i dont use it,,, and oh yeah this thing has ample amount of padding and is contoured to fit... best 30 bucks ive ever spent in my life... ohh it was definatly the mouse tray and the beer holder that got me on this buy.... beer is a must for sunday gameing outside in the summer.... they have the mouse tray on each side and the same for the beer holder, so its left hand user friendly

Not for me. I play Dirt 2 on my lap and this week tried Transformers, while relaxing in bed before going to sleep.
Is 8.5 pounds too much for your knees? -
For those who think it's too heavy... get to the gym - stat. -
It doesn't really seem that heavy, although I haven't even dared to game with it in my lap. I can see after a few hours it being uncomfortable. The heat mixed with the bulk might be a problem, but the bottom of this thing is pretty flat with not many protrusions so I think it should be fine. -
haha man i can see like 20 pounds or more on your knees would be annoying but not 8 pounds,,, haha i agree, get the gym asap,,, with some good sized muscle u will be alright,,, i can see if u have little twigs for legs, yeah i could get uncomfortable lol.... but yeah the rocketfish is the bomb... soooo comfortable... well padded... and i love the beer holder and mouse tray...

I've played warcraft 3: the frozen throne with my g73 on my lap for hours before with no problems (using my mouse of course while sitting on my bed). Its not that heavy, and the more you use it, the smaller it will seem.
I carry it from home to school in my bag along with my books and that can get heavy if you aren't well built. If you have to walk a good distance, u might have trouble or you might not. -
It won't feel heavy, but it may be hard to play with the touchpad instead of a mouse.
-
You can use the mouse on the palmrest
For extended lap usage, I use my Targus fan. It helps readjust the weight distribution on my lap by adjusting the angle of the laptop. -
The weight is fine, but i dont game on my lap, since the underside does get too warm to my liking, but its great for surfing the web and working... If youre male i especially wouldnt reccommend gaming on your lap if you dont want to become sterile.

I'm a lap user 90% of the time. It's fine.
Is the G73 Too Heavy to Game on Your Lap for a Few Hours?
