    Hi all,

I am planning to upgrade the Wifi adapters of our household laptops to Intel 6200 to improve performance, and stop annoying conflicts.

For my G73JH would the following be compatible/recommended? :

Intel Advanced-N 6200 802.11n Wireless Half Mini Card | eBay

Am keen on this one as has international shipping at reasonable price!

    Cheers

Cheers, just wanted to check that the half-height mini was the right size.

    Will get ordering!

I wouldn't buy that one. It is probably an ES (engineering sample) and may not work. Get one from provantage.com. $28, but it will work and you can return it if it doesn't.

I bought an ES on eBay, fortunately the seller was honest and refunded my money when it didn't work. Someone in China may not be so kind.

I agree with ValkerieFire. The first 6200 I bought was off Ebay and it didn't work in my G73 and the antenna terminal pulled off the board when I was removing the card from the computer eliminating any chance of returning it. I then bought one from Provantage and it worked perfectly.

I might email the seller and ask if it's an ES or genuine. As it's not urgent I could always wait till I'm in the States at the end of the year and pick up one then (along with a new router).

I got the laptop from Provantage who had the cheapest freight to New Zealand by about $110 US!
