I recently upgraded my laptop with an intel SSD, i made a clean win7 install with the asus drivers... However im having issue with my second drive (HDD), it has data from my previous win7. When i try to load data from my HDD, its very slow or the programs from it crash. I believe its the IDE/ATAPI drivers (IMSM), i reinstalled the driver but i still have issue with the drive. Help!

Try the newest IRST driver. IRST is the successor to IMSM.

It IS very slow compared to the SSD :)

Here's a link to the above-mentioned driver: Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver 10.1.0.1008.

I'm not sure what kind of programs you're running from the second HDD, but if they were previously installed on your old system drive using a Windows installer, then they're not necessarily just going to run from your newly installed OS without reinstalling the software.

Yeah SSD ftw! :p . But seriously i know some programs require to be reinstalled with a new Win install, the thing is there programs crashing or loading very slow from my HDD. I suspect the bios change from IDE to AHCI(spelling?) or the drivers.

Plus, my blu-ray drive has similar issue... I know in the past(before SSD) i had to switch the controller setting in the bios from ATAPI to IDE to fix the blu-ray drive issue.

Oh well, i will try thoses drivers.

EDIT:Im almost certain the Intel rapid storage thingy is bugging my HDD and blu-ray drive. Unfortunetly i cant get ride of it, ill lose TRIM function... Im clueless!

It really shouldn't mess things up, especially the optical drive.

In BIOS settings, your drive controller should be set to AHCI mode, not the legacy IDE mode.

Backup everything to an external hdd. Low-format the HDD, put stuff back in.
