    Hey everyone,

I just got my Asus G53sw-A1 from Amazon today and basically it kicks supreme booty.

Anyways, there are a few things I have questions on, having switched from using an apple for the last 5 years.

    1. Does the powercord tip that goes into the right side of the computer have a strange "resistance" feel to you guys when plugging in?

    2. Should I unplug the powercord when my battery is full to prevent cell damage?

    3. Where do I go to remove all this bull trial stuff that came with my pc?

    4. Which is better if I'm going to be away for 4-8 hours: sleep or hibernate?

Sounds anal, I know. I have pretty gnarly OCD when it comes to this stuff.

    Thanks everyone,
    Brady

    1. You may want to get a right angle adapter because that cord has been known to snag.

    2. It will stop charging around 95% to prevent overcharge, there's no need to remove ac power.

    3. See http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/380681-asus-utility-bloatware-guide.html

    4. It depends on how fast you need it when you come back. If you need near-instant on, go with sleep/standby. If you don't need it so fast, go with hibernate. Hibernate saves the entire contents of RAM to a file on the hard disk, and completely powers the machine off. Sleep will put the computer into a low power state that uses around 1-2 watts normally, so if you are going to leave for 24+ hours and don't want to shut down, you may want to hibernate instead.

    5. Congrats on your purchase and make your way over here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-reviews-owners-lounges/570676-asus-g53sw-owners-lounge.html
