Just picked up the laptop yesterday, what tests would you recommend I do to make sure everything is working fine, benchmarks, monitoring software etc, I could also do a few tests and post my findings here for those of you that would be interested .
Keep in mind I have never done this before and might need a bit of guidance .

    You are one lucky man!

    Try

for dead pixels and run some benchmarks (download 3dmark: it's free) and compare your results with the results for the same model they have on their database. You could also check the machines temperatures' when running under stress (for exemple, when running the benchmarks).

I'm not sure what's Asus' policy on you opening you machine but if you get unexpectedly high temps you might want to check the cpu socket for paste or if the fans are working properly..

    Good gaming! ;-)

I am scoring P5660 in 3Dmark 11, in the 720p test, I think you have to pay to do it under the extreme preset and 1080P

    And I am scoring P20314 in 3Dmark Vantage .

Seems ok so far . ^^

So far really good, the build quality is great, I really like the keyboard and screen, checked the temps after a 3-4 hour gaming session (Neverwinter online maxxed out) the GPU reached 54°c and CPU was at 55°c, so the cooling is great and suprisingly really quite, innaudible with my MMX300 headset on .
Managed to rearrange Windows 8.1 to my liking, which was my major gripe, but all is well now, this laptop is really really heavy though, so definately in the desktop replacment category .
