I just received my computer, and it came with the Nvidia glasses, but no receiver. Was it supposed to come with this? Also, there was a 3D promo video that came on the computer, and it basically has the video side-by-side playing. Is thisthe kind of 3D that Nvidia offers? Because, how would you play a game in full-screen if it has to have two images side-by-side? I was assuming it was going to be 3D technology like in the movies like Avatar. What's the deal with this? The computer came in an Asus box along with the backpack and mouse, so I'm assuming the company that I bought it from just sent whatever Asus packages. Why is there no Nvidia receiver? Anyone else have the 3DE and have this problem?

Holdon, I feel dumb. Does this computer not require the emitter?

I believe the emitter is located to the side of the webcam.

As stated the emitter is built in next to the web cam. Try registering your roxio cd player then play the 3d demo in there, it will work, though it's very jumpy. Not sure if there is an add-on you need to work it in media player, as I got the 2 side by side images in that, and on the YouTube 3d content.

Thx guys. I have one more question on an unrelated note. Kinda a bummer having to deal with this stuff again as I switched back from Mac after 4 years.

The ASUS ControlDeck, which is what I assume controls the laptop Fn keys, stopped working on bootup. when I click to open the app itself, it says the "side-by-side" configuration is not correct. Though the brightness adjustment buttons work, the keyboard lights, sound buttons, and multimedia buttons do not. ControlDeck isn't on the Asus utility/driver cd either. What am I suppose dot do right now? Also, THX TruStudio is doing the same thing...sigh Windows...

ASUS ControlDeck shouldn't be related to your hotkeys, I uninstalled it on my system and still have use of all my fn+f1-12 options. The program you are looking for is the ATK package, also make sure you haven't disabled it from the startup list.
