I have to say. for 1,199.99$ its one of the greatest deals out there for best-buy.

But does the risk of GSOD and bad thermal paste outweigh the price?
Does anyone have any advice whether to buy this over the MSI GX660-60R?
Also can you connect to Wifi using the wimax internal receiver?

    $1,999.99 US?

1600x900, no blu-ray, 5400RPM drives, 6GB RAM....doesn't sound like much of a deal to me.

    Much better deal :)

I would upgrade (at least the system drive) to a 7200RPM drive...~$80 (or go all out and get an SSD if you have the means). 5400RPM drives are painfully slow.

Good price for a good notebook though. You should have no problem clearing up any of the issues you've read and worry about.
