For some reason, my laptop in the house is the only one that is losing a connection. Just a few minutes ago, I had no connections available while my brother was on his laptop surfing the net just fine.

So my conclusion is it has something to do with my laptop. perhaps its the intel Centrino Advanced -N 6200 AGN card I upgraded to? Does anyone else have this problem with their g73?

edit - I'm thinking updating my drivers will fix the issue. hope it works. I normally lose a connection when I come out of hibernation, or randomly.

Yeah, I would update / redo the drivers.

I know this isn't right on topic but I was thinking of getting a 6200 and was wondering if I install the drivers for it BEFORE installing it or after.

I would recommend downloading them at least before you swap, unless you have an easily accessible wired location.

I am having the same problem. Every time the computer comes out of hibernation or is restarted, it can't find any networks. The computer thinks the device is working correctly, but I get nothing.

I am using the G73JW with the Atheros AR9285 Woreless Adapter. I have updated to the latest drivers from the ASUS site and no change. I tried installing their software that came with the drivers, and nothing. Any suggestions?

I had that restart problem with my Atheros AR9285 at university. I mentioned this before, but some cisco access points and atheros adapters don't play nice together.

Switched to an Intel 6200, no more problems and i get the awesomeness of having the only 5GHz network in the neighborhood at home :D.

Well it worked great for 3 months and about a week ago it decided to start being a about it. I don't think it's a wireless chip <=> access point issue since none of the local wireless networks (over 20) show up when it acts up. They all go away. Factor that in with the fact that it only happens on this laptop and not my other one, and it only happens when the OS does some type of Init() process, I'd say it's a OS <=> Driver issue... but all my attempts to resolve have moved me no closer to an answer.

You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting the antennas. The Asus techs didn't plug them correctly after a RMA for a LCD issue on my N50, one of them wasn't making proper contact after lugging it around for a few days, if the connector wasn't properly seated it might have gotten loose over time. It may not be that but it's worth a try at least.

Also uninstall the adapter hrough the device manager and get the drivers from JOSEA's link to Chastity's reference page.

The Atheros was a piece of trash for me, it kept randomly dropping me from the network and I couldn't ever get back without restarting. I got a 6200 and haven't had any connectivity issues, however the signal seems to be weaker, often floating between 4-5 bars despite being 15 feet from my router. No connectivity issues, so I don't really mind.

Make sure your wireless console 3 is up to date. I think that solved it for a few people.
