I've tried searching but only find threads about the common missing keystroke issue. Mine is different. I had missing keystrokes until my G73 was RMAd and now it works better.

However, for the past few days, now half the time, pressing numbers (the top row, not numpad) creates the wrong character. For example, I just got a "P" the first few tries I wanted to create a ")"

    Any ideas?

Damaged keyboard connector ? or something spilled on the keyboard ?

Might want to take a look under the keyboard.

I think Dh48 is correct, does this also happen with an external KB?
Also might be worth checking device manager- keyboard ... do you have KB filter 1.0.0.3 ?
Also if you can rule out a hardware issue, do you see any errors or warnings in event viewer?

Hrmm. Well I'd have to do some research to figure out how to look under the keyboard / at the connector.

I am pretty sure this issue does not happen with an external keyboard.

I am not at home right now to check device manager, but would KB Filter be listed right there under Keyboards in device manager? I'll check when I get home in a few hours, as well as the event viewer.

Thanks for the tips on where to start!

Yes, I have KB Filter 1.0.0.3.
I do have a handful of events...including one about a driver.

"An error caused the driver not to respond. If this is a new installation, retry the installation with Anti-Malware software disabled. Current license number: (null)"
