I just repasted my GPU, and I put my laptop all the way back together. Nothing happened when I hit power. I took it completely back apart, and hooked up the batter, it works (motherboard up). I set the motherboard down and put things back one by one while also hitting the power. The screw that must be removed in the mid right side of the motherboard, if tightened too much, hits a 'killswitch' that prevents the laptop from turning on. I took the motherboard back off, looked, and for sure there was a second switch exactly like the power button. My question is, why the hell is it there, and has anyone else experienced problems with it? What did I do wrong putting it back together if I can't prevent it from hitting the 'kill switch'.

Any pressure clicking that button immediately shuts the computer down. I just don't get it.

IIRC, it's a reset switch, and people have reported reassembly with the wifi cables in the way, preventing the laptop from powering on.

Thank you. I have my G73 up and running now. I had to use a penny to keep it from hitting the switch. I don't know how it was when I was taking it apart that prevented it from hitting the switch.

I can't use my card reader now though. Does anyone know how that reset switch is supposed to not be pressed??

The reset button should not be getting pressed unless the wifi cables get wedged between it and the case. As for the card reader, maybe the cable for it is not properly seated.
