When I plug my Asus G73JH gaming laptop into my CyberPower 150W car charger, my computer's battery symbol says it's charging for a second or two, and then it just stops, almost as if some circuit breaker stopped the car charger from providing power. Why is this? Does my laptop simply use too much wattage to the point the charger cannot supply?

Other post on this forum said this laptop could suck as much as 180watt. It could just be your 150w charger not able to support it. Beside, is it a really 150watt charger or just 150w peak.

hm, that's true actually; I didn't consider the voltage level on the charger went I went into Best Buy to get it.. pretty hasty on my purchases I guess haha. Well thank you for your insight, I'll be returning it for a charger with a higher voltage, maybe even some of those 175W chargers would do the trick.

The problem you will also encounter is that car chargers using the car cigarette lighter port has a max draw of 140w. Going higher will short out the cabling or ac port in the car. (I know, done that once already) ;) I use an inverter connected to the battery terminals when I want to game. If I'm just surfing, then I'll use the AC car port.
