In another thread made by another user, I mentioned that I can buy another year of warranty (accidental) for 300 bucks but most of you guys said it was too much money. I have the G73jh with the 16x9 screen.
I already had my battery replaced and my AC adapter replaced.
I was wondering if there are any problems I should try to address before the warranty runs out.

The only problem I have at the moment is the mouse pad. It jumps all over the place and its VERY annoying. Is this a software issue or a hardware issue? I will be calling asus soon to have this problem repaired.
Any problems exist on this laptop I should be aware of that could potentially be fixed through the 2 days of warranty I have left?

I am a happy owner of the G73JH X3 series with the radeon HD5870. and 8 gigs of ram. Owned it for years now. Other than a Hard drive partition setup from the unbox. Not a problem. Gonna update to the Seagate 500 gig SSD Hybrid drive and squeeze some speed out of this mobile monster. Its really not bad for a notebook.

@ OP You really need to stop worrying and just enjoy your laptop. These things are built like bricks and do not break easily. I have benched and stressed mine daily since I got it and had it in pieces many many times and it still runs a treat and normally above 50oC the whole time 24/7 :D

In regards to the sticky mouse problem its a trial and error fix. There is a post (below) about it and I explain one of my fixes that worked for me that there are 4 pieces of sticky tape under the mouse pad holding the film in place and removing them stopped all my hardware problems and updating my software drivers and turning off certain features ie two finger zoom and all the extra gadgets in synaptics helped loads. I turn the sensitivity up high so that I dont have to put too much pressure on the pad which causes it to stick.

Good luck with what you choose to do but I think you can be safe in the knowledge that it will be ok and save your money.

I'd just save the money. Besides, if something breaks, asus *will* fix it, and a new mobo is ~$300, and a new screen is only $100ish if you do it yourself.

I bought one of those, Seagate 500gb XT, awesome little drive! I believe it's the only one of its kind. If you buy one, make sure you update the firmware before you start using it. It's definitely cheaper then buying a SSD.

So it's not even worth sending it to the manufacture to have it fixed then? That's what I had planned on doing originally but if its something I can fix then its worth a try. It's incredibly annoying when I am using the mouse pad and it jumps, doesnt move, you try and move it and as soon as you let it goes back to where it was, SO ANNOYING! I thought it was a hardware problem that only by replacing the pad with a new revision was the only way to fix it.

    Thanks

Do you know where I can get a 1080 screen for a 100 bucks? lol Ebay has them for about 170$ shipped.

Still, $170 shipped will get you a full 1080p screen (an upgrade from that 16x9), and that or the motherboard going are the main things that "COULD" go wrong.

I'm a big fan of my G73, and I don't expect to replace it for at least another year and a half to 2 years depending on how it handles newer games.

The biggest recommendation I can give is to get comfortable with taking your G73 apart because it's really not hard to strip it down should you ever need to work on it. I personally never trust a manufacturer to do a better job fixing my computers than I could do, because usually I am more careful with my own things.
