I am going to be traveling the end of this month and I was looking for a battery-extender for my G73Jh-A1. I looked at http://www.tekkeon.com/downloads/dtasht_MP3450.pdf but unfortunately because the G73 is so power hungry it will not work. Has anyone purchased anything that works?

    Thank you in advance.

Down clock your gpu and adjust your powerplay settings. Probably to use about 20% of your cpu and display brightness all the way to the lowest. You should be able to squeeze about 2 to 3 hours out of it. Sufficient for just web browsing.

Two to three hours is not bad, but my trip on the plane will last about fourteen hours including an hour layover. So I really need an external battery solution. (since most likely they don't have plugs in coach).

Bro, if your going to need to last 14 hours of battery, your going to need a 6cell or 9 cell netbook not a G73. And even for a netbook your going to need one or two spare batteries.

Not looking for 14 hours more like 7. And I don't mind having an extra battery.
I liked what Tekkeon (look at my first post) had to offer but because the G73 uses more than 5A it will drain the battery in no time.

i dont think any single extra power source is gonna power ur g73 for 7 hours. Unless you get some massive rechargable power pack. You probably will need multiple batteries. I tried lookin around but G73 sucks up way too much power :/.

on a side note. You're going to bring ur G73 on coach? Is there enough space :p?

Sirius has a point, i tried taking my G73 out on a train before, it was too big for me to use it. I would bet your better off spending the money on a netbook. Or those Android slates...

I was trying to avoid the Netbook route, (more expensive) but I guess that's the only way. Thank you all for the feedback.
