    Hi guys,

So i just got my G73JH. I used to play Age Of Conan on an old computer and, boy, dos it rock on the G73 :)

But i had a double issue, not easy to explain in fact. Graphics are great, nothing to say, though i use DX9 config and not DX10.
Now, my issue is/was the whites and blacks. Sun relfection on some part of the ground and water was just unbearable. Walking along a beach for example gives me a headache. Blacks are good until i get in any type of cave (cave in tortage beach zone there - dont remember the name, that place with all the newbie PK's - is a very good example), then in those cave, blacks are just horrible.

So to fix this, i just wanted to update the drivers since i was still using the instell version ones (december 2009)...there i go, install the latest 10.7 catalyst drivers...and, well..

    1. problem is not solved (i was logged at the beach to test it out)
    2. it got worse since the game "crashes" after 5 seconds, giving me a grey screen

so right now i got the choice to either play with some major glitches (depending of the area of course), either not at all...

    easy question for you :

    - what catalyst version are you using to have a bug free AOC? :)

    Thank you!!

Good question. I would suggest trying the 10.7a drivers, or the Asus 10.1. Both links are available in the software section in my 3rd link.

Hi there, thanks a lot for the links!

For the 10.7hotfix, how should i proceed ? installe the Mobility 10.7 Catalyst package from AIT? then right away the hotfix before trying to get in game ?

Whats the difference between the ati drivers and Asus 10.1 ? (newb inside)

8.683 is the original driver from Asus - 9.12.

There's also a 8.692.1.0 from Asus - that is 10.1. You can get it from Asus downloads using the following search criteria:

    Product: Notebook
    Series: Drivers
    Models: VGA

Look down the list to find the ATI version 8.692.1.0 driver.

I think you are the only person in the world playing Age of Conan so I don't think you're going to find any help. :err:

OK. That wasn't funny. I'll stop now.

Have you tried running it with DX10? I was wondering why you are running DX9 instead. I would think the G73 would blow right through that game on maxed out settings, no?

The G73 should rip it good, until it GSOD. :D
