    Hi guys,
Last month, i did so-called "re-calibration" to correct the readings of my original battery, then it died and couldn't revive back. R.I.P.

Looking for a new one, and i know the originals aren't sold online, or too expensive. Which one do you suggest me to buy, i just want a new one that would allow me to backup about an hour with correct readings, which is enough for me.

Please help, thanks a lot! Happy new year!

    Thanks Hutsady for the tip!

    I found this one:
    8-Cell Battery

But it's 139 USD! Isn't it too expensive, or do you recommend me to buy a replacement? What do you think?

Taxes may apply and if it turns out not to be genuine you may not be able to do much about it.

I'm in a similar situation with my ASUS, battery status is useless, as I type it went from 71% to 100% and back down, dies in under an hour. If you go for the ebay battery let me know how it goes.

The OEM versions always cost more, but we will always recommend them. We have heard more then one horror story about third party ones.

OEM can be fine, but manufacturing tolerances and quality control will be no where near that of an offcial battery and who knows if they actually comply with the safety standards required....

I'd say it starts becoming suspicious when they use a brand name they have no license for.

    Hi again,
I ended up buyin this one. It's cheap and is OK for me so far. I don't use the battery so much, and just purchased it against momentary backup requirements.

What i noticed, when you unplug the power cord, the battery activates itself for TWICE, the ATK OSD warning comes to screen for twice as entering battery mode. That's a bit odd but definately no problem.

    Hi again,
I was suspecting of my battery's level, now my suspections would come true.

I unplugged the AC, it past 20 minutes and battery level indicator on taskbar still shows %100. The level isn't dropping. It's clear that the indicator level is lying. What should i do?

Be very careful as it could mean the internal cells are not being properly managed.

For this replacement battery, my problem is, the level readings on taskbar is inaccurate, it's discharging but it's still %100. Sometimes the level is shown properly after some discharging/charging cycle, BUT THE PROBLEM ARISES again. I don't know why. I don't think calibration would solve the issue as i discharged previously and still same problem.

It's likely not quite built correctly to spec which is why I am saying it may not be handled correctly.
