Hello all, I'm looking for some input. I am wanting to upgrade my asus to something that will hopefully stand the test of gaming over the next few years. I was wondering if anyone knew what type ram we have in these particular models. I know its ddr2 but i am not for sure of the specific number that the ram is.. maybe 6200s?? That's the only number i found on the ram when i looked and i cant find any ram, any where, with that number.

I am also looking into the processor and hard drive. I had a WD black 320 gig in here.. but a virus took it out.. so from what i am finding on amazon.. it looks like my only options are WD Blue and Black and the seagate momentum(Sp?)... so far, my old WD was only a year old and died on me.. so i am kinda scared to go with another one. Any ideas? Lastly, the processor.. after a lot of research i have found that the T9600 would be the best for what i am shooting for. I found a T9900.. but i am afraid it will put out to much heat and cause a major melt down.. Currently i just have dual core 2.26 in here.. and would really like to up the performance and my 3dmark06 scores. Thanks for any and all input!

actually bought me one on ebay today for lans etc also thinking of upgrading it.

was thinking doing the vent mod and a notebook cooler to keep it cool, and buy the apple 3ghz cpu as way cheaper then t9900 and it is also 3ghz,and they it does work.

    its called Intel E8435 cpu.

To do that you have to make sure the socket type is the same.
If your socket is a 478 pin and there are 479 pins on the CPU... theres no way you can do that.

Yeah, I appreciate the feed back on the processor.. but i am set on buying the t9600.. that seller just doesn't seem right. Way too eager to sell stuff.. it makes me weary, especially with buying from the internet and buying something so important as the processor.

So how bout it? Anyone know what type ram my pc has?
