    Hello,

I was not following the news of the recent GS72/ASUS G751/etc and was focused at gs60/razer blade etc
The better cooling+less noise+better performance aspects interests me

If i were to buy one of the laptops i mentioned which are the pros and cons against each other? i heard Screen is really bad with asus etc any info would be appreciated

I have seen the temps with the G750 and if I wasn't looking at SLI I would get the G751. I could link you to a youtuber who has benchmarked a lot of games with an overclocked 880m G750. He is only hitting over 70c after playing Crysis 3 for some time. And he is overclocking. The G750 has its own overclocking software from Asus. He is getting average in the 60s Celsius in most games with overclock! I imagine with the 980m the temps are gonna embarrass every other laptop manufacturer. If only they had SLI option... But we all await the official news and benchmarks. As for the question of screen quality, I ask what criteria are you measuring it? What standards are you judging the screen? Durability? Resolution? Refresh rate? I assume it is 1920x1080 60hz. Another reason why I am leaning elsewhere because once you have experience 120hz you cannot go back. LOL when someone says: "the eye cannot see past 60 hertz..." Total BS. As for the durability of the screen I imagine its as good as any other; don't drop it. And if the G751 has great benchmarks when it is released I would get it and probably just replace the screen with a 120hz one.

    Some real cons though are:
    -CPU is soldered to motherboard
-They make it so replacing or repasting GPU requires complete disassembly

    Benefits
-Best cooling for any laptop I have seen
    -Great overclocker

That soldered cpu is also a deal breaker for me. I just remembered that. But cooling is one of the most important aspects of a laptop. It allows it to last a long time. If you happen to play for 5+ hours at a time you are safe! I have briefly looked into the MSI and Razor laptops and nothing they have stands out to me except price. Yes the Razor is thin but that does not mean it has a good design. Asus has a good design that delivers practical performance. After seeing that silly touchscreen on the Razor I decided against it. It gets hot and has extra designs like that touchpad that make it ridiculous. I think Asus deserves praise but their products are double edged because although the cooling is revolutionary they have conflicted serious gamers with their soldered cpu and hardware placement.

I hope I have assisted your decision and would like to read some of these reasoned arguments against the Asus screen; not at all specious of course...

HERE is a link to that youtuber benchmarking BF4, high settings and getting 62 Celcius. He has a lot of benchmark videos with that laptop if you look through his account. Everyone hates the GTX 880m and it pulls 125TDP. The 980m has gotta run at least under 100 and I am predicting 80-90 and hell, it could be less. We could see record temps with the G751.

Keep in mind the GT72 also have soldered CPU's. Spot on with cooling, the Asus have consistently shown to be the best.

Is that for all MSI laptops? I just do not see anything that sticks out to me about MSI. Asus also has pretty good warranty. Maybe you could highlight MSI's benefits.

Not all of them, for example the GT70 are not soldered on.

You can never upgrade a socketed CPU beyond the generation it is of course, so if you get a model with the 4860HQ you would be set for CPU tweaking anyway.

The GT72 models are coming with more VRAM on the 980M and 970M.

That will be a major factor in the near future, if you like to max out your games's settings.

I'm not to sure it will be that important, the usage levels show everything moved into vram, not if that's actually essential for the current scene or not, much like windows caching.
