    Hey guys,

I am about to buy an Asus G73jh (G73JH-TZ002V Belgian/European Model ID). I recently bought an Intel X25-m G2 160gb SSD (Sata II) and I would like to install this harddrive in the asus. Then ofcourse I will do a clean Win7 Ultimate x64 instalation on it.
Before I go through with the actual purchase I would just like some reasurrance that what I'm about to undertake will end succesfully. Is there any reason / known issues why this SSD from intel would pose considerable problems in the Asus G73jh. I certainly hope not ^^.

As an alternate request; Is there a guide available to install a new HDD in the asus (probably pretty easy I presume).

I would like to thank all replyers in advance for the input; It is greatly appreciated,

    Jimi

AstarothAcc, The answer is No you should not have any problems, many have done it or had it done by our dealers

For the initial install you only have to take out the large cover on the bottom of the unit and the original hard drive is easily accessible.
This is the definitive thread to start with for your project in my opinion

Once you are up and running ths thread would be very helpful.

Many of us have done it, its simple as hell and these drives have no problems.

Just screw out the two screws holding the back plate, take it off, unscrew two screws on one of the hard drive caddys, take it out, change the HD in the caddy with the SSD (4 screws hold it) and reverse the process. Its pretty obvious what you have to do, trust me.

A SSD is the only upgrade I am considering on my -A3 unit...

I have the dual 500gb Momentus XL Hybrid drives, but I wonder how much faster overall it would be with a SSD system drive (I would only replace one drive and use the other for my programs/games/data)... Then I would have a spare 500gb drive on hand as well...

Ok, so I have a question. I have the G73JH-X1 and the G.Skill Phoenix Pro...I put the SSD in after making my recovery disks and when I try to use the recovery disks I get the blinking cursor of annoyance in the upper left corner. Someone suggested enabling UEFI in BIOS but that didnt help either. If i use a Win7 Disk it errors out. Is there a trick I am missing? Do I just have a bad SSD?

    Any suggestions would be great!

    Thanks
