Hi guys I just want to know how well ME3 performs on a G73JH for you guys.

Its pretty good for me but sometimes when i move my mouse to one direction the game kind of stutters and i see the fps drop from 50+ to as low as 20 but only for a moment. Its kind of annoying because most of the time it will be running smoothly but sometimes it runs as bad as trying to max The Witcher 2 where its so choppy that the running animation looks bad.

Other than the stuttering the game runs pretty well avg at 45-50fps. One tip too for you out there is to run it on Windowed Full Screen mode no borders. I used to run it on FUll Screen and I was getting WORSE stuttering. Changing it to Windowed Full Screen no borders made it better.

edit - i forgot to mention im using 11.12 drivers...will update to 12.2 and hope for an improvement

Its just too bad that the ending is beyond horrible and makes no sense.

So far it runs really smooth here on 12.2. But I still expect some little tuning from AMDs side in the next drivers and also from a pretty sure soon upcomming game-patch :)

Had similar problems, running 12.2. These things smoothed out my fps for me:
    1) Disable Origin in game
    2) Override anti-aliasing settings using catalyst (I set it to 2x)

    - After restart

    In game settings for me
    1) Disabled motion blur
    2) AA enabled (can turn it off if you want)
    3) Cinematic Lights 2
    4) Dynamic Shadows enabled (can turn it off if you want, but you'll get weird shadows in faces during cinematics)
    5) Harmonic Lighting Off <-- for some reason, enabling this kills my fps

With these settings, I'm running fluidly. Found this various information surfing forums on why ME3 was acting so sluggishly. After this, I'm running very smoothly, some stutters when loading new areas, but otherwise I'm very happy.

I have a problem with Mass Effect 3 on my G73JH. I installed the game earlier this evening and while playing the first long intro cutscene, the computer turned off without warning. I checked around the right exhaust port and the computer did seem to be quite hot. I've been running 11.6 ( I think) since I replaced the main HDD last summer and I have had no problem playing modern games for hours at a time (Arkham City, Deus Ex, MW3, etc) but this is the first time the computer turns off on its own. It took almost a minute before the computer would turn back on too. I should mention that I am also running my G73 on a thermaltake massive23 cooler at all time so overheating is pretty surprising and with the noise the computer fan made, you know it was working.

Did anybody else experienced something like that?

What kind of temperatures are you getting, exactly? And has this happened since?

I wasn't monitoring temps at the time. In fact I hadn't reinstalled CPUID since I reformated the laptop last june so by the time the laptop came back on and I installed CPUID everything was normal. One thing that bothers me is that CPUID doesn't show the same temp sensor setup as it did in my old config (I kept old screenshots) so I'm not sure yet which number to compare.

I'll have to dig around a little. I'll also try to update my catalyst drivers. I think I remember seeing somewhere last summer that the version I currently use wasn't the best one for fan management.

I just find it weird that Mass Effect 3 would overheat the laptop in 10 minutes while 2h of Deus Ex or Arkham City don't pose any problem.

    *EDIT*
Well I'm stomped. I upgraded to Catalyst 12.3 and Bios 213 but Mass Effect 3 still overheats my G73jh in about 7 minutes. I can start the game but about the time the reaper attacks the council room, the computer shuts down and won't turn back on for a minute or so. The right exhaust area is really hot to the touch. Strange thing is that Mass Effect 3 seems to be the only game doing this. I played 30 minutes if MW3 earlier today without any problem.

    *2nd EDIT*
Well.... After reading a few forums I found some people mentioning problems with harmonic lightings.
I turned them off and now everything works normally. The game is a little darker but it's a small price to pay.
I just finished 1h of play while monitoring temps closely and everything was green across the board.
All graphical settings are set to max, anti-aliasing is at 2X and I get between 35 and 60FPS.
God I love this machine :)
