What are everyone's thoughts on matte versus glossy screens? I am not sure what is best. I do hate glare, but it wasn't really that bad when I had my glossy G73 for about a month.

    Then, there's the price.

I was thinking of ordering a G74 from Xotic PC and the matte screen option costs $185 more!

I'm assuming the others (newegg, tigerdirect, amazon...) have glossy screens for the G74 -- they don't say.

Slight tangent: I don't need 2x standard drives -- I want to put my SSD in on the second slot. I wanted to buy the Amazon version with only one 750GB hard drive for the killer price of $1500, but why no Blu-ray? Would have been PERFECT if it had a Blu-ray.

I always like matte over glossy and dont mind sacrificing colour for the removal of glare I cant stand it, really dont want to change my screen but the glare is one thing that really grinds my gears.

My personal recommendation Matte because that is what im gonna go for and 75 colour gamut against 60 with glare is a double yes please.

get a 120Hz matte panel. they're brighter, have nice color gamut, and no glare, plus 120Hz ftw.
