    hey all,

I've been looking for a messenger type bag as an alternative to my backpack. Since the G73 is quite big, there are pretty limited selection in this category. I would like to know if anyone is using the below listed bags and if the G73 can fit into them.

Ballistix PTAC Matrix Laptop Shoulder Bag by SLAPPA

Ballistix AURA Black Laptop Shoulder Bag by SLAPPA

Amazon.com: Targus CityGear Miami Messenger Case for 17 Inch Notebooks TCG200 (Black with Grey): Electronics

any other bag suggestions are welcome :) as long as it's a messenger type bag

I know for a fact the CityGear Miami works well. I've switched to a backpack since, but the Miami did its job before that.

    I recommend using a 18" bag
my old 17,3" bag was too small so I had to buy a new one (Dicota ClassicExtend) :/

I second the targus bag, I use that one also. The nice part is the front pocket unzips and folds down.

The Targus is hard to beat on price, but Slappa bags (while pricey) are extremely durable and well built. I prefer backpacks myself, since the thought of carrying around a beast like the G73 on my shoulder through an airport makes me wince.

HardBody PRO Laptop Case, probably one of the best messenger bags for the G73, check the reviews/comments below, a lot of owners confirm it fits on the 17'' model, its expensive, but seems very well done, i have one preorder for dec5, but coming by boat with other stuff to me, when i get it i might post some pictures into how it fits.

I have the Targus CityGear bag that I use for my Gateway laptop. I've put my G73 in there and it's a very tight fit. I wasn't comfortable with how tight it was so I Bought the Targus CityGear Backpack, and it has plenty of room. I know it's not a messenger bag, but it was the only thing I could find to fit this monster at my local retail shop.

Perhaps it would be more helpful to the OP if you stated which models you're referring to....there's lots of CityGear models. For example, the Miami may be snug, but I know there's lots of room in the Los Angeles model :)

I personally going with the Slappa, i got the Spyder also and the quality seems really good, just its not big enough to fit the laptop comfortably. But based on the user reviews on the slappa website for the hardbody pro, a lot of happy G73 owners... so will see in a month or so once it comes by boat to me :D .

I bought the Ballistix P-Tac PRO- Black from Slappa. The G73JW doesn't fit in the inner sleeve closed by a velcro flap, but fits fine in the compartment next to it that is covered by the main flap with plenty of room. Very nice bag.
