Basically the jack isn't being recognized as my microphone. The webcam microphone seems to pick up all of the noise, and there doesn't even seem to be a selection for my headset's microphone. I've checked the bios to see if there was a way to change the audio controller, no luck. There's no "enable multi-stream recording" option anyway. I don't know what to do, any help on how to get this headphone jack to be recognized?
Edit: I've tested out a USB mic, it is detected and works just fine. When I have the headset plugged into the microphone port, nothing seems to be detected but the webcam microphone does not pick up anything either.

If I were in your situation, I'd check the headset microphone on another computer, OR try another headset microphone in your laptop. You want to determine if it is a bad jack or a bad microphone.
Also check out the "Recording" tab of the "Sound" dialog (click on "Start" and enter "Sound" in the Search box it'll appear as the 1st selection under "Control Panel") to see if your headset microphone shows up there and allows you to select it. -
So you see a message when you plugin your headphones, but you see no message when you plugin a microphone?
Have you tried a different sound driver? (e.g this one)
Have you tried a different mic and the current mic on a different PC?
In the worst case the mic line in port is broken, the easiest solution in this case is a USB mic or a USB sound card (Costs like 5$).
