I recently thought I had a dead pixel but it turned out to be dust behind the LCD. Should I RMA it. Its a spec about the size of a dead pixel and annoyinh the hell out of me. I took it apart and broke the rubber screw covers on the bottom of the LCD bezel so I just took them off. What do you think Is should do?

I'd suggest RMAing it. This way not only will they replace/clean the screen but also save you the hassle of finding those screw covers.

They'll most likely just repair it since it's a minor issue. If they do end up giving you a replacement, it's more than likely it'll be a refurb unit.

You could see if there is a local shop who is an Asus Authorized Repair Shop for warranty service. They can then fix it locally and on such a repair have it back quickly.

    Asus ASP Locations

If you don't trust the service techs at Asus, then you can try do it yourself. But keep in mind that even if Asus sends you one with dead pixels and/or scratches, you have every right to request another replacement. The Asus authorized repair providers mentioned by Chastity is also another option if you live near one of them.

LOL, there's like four different threads you've started on the same subject. See one of the others for my reply.

I think I will go over to Bestbuy tommorow, Have them check it out then have them send it out for a replacement or repair (But I will keep my HDD for important info). But should mention the Screw covers?

Sure, mention the screw covers just so they know it needs replacing. This shouldn't affect your warranty since the warranty sticker under your keyboard should still be intact.

Well I went to Bestbuy today and they are sending it out for either repair or getting me another unit.
