Well, I bought a refurbished asus G53 notebook every thing went fine till that

day when a strange virus attacked the system causing a loop of BSOD, then I

decided to reinstall windows, However, there is no recovery CD, then I checked

the manual and it mentions that there should be a recovery partition. I

managed to use Command prompt (CMD) and then used the diskpart command

and there is for sure any recovery partition !!!. I sent my labtop to the asus

agency and they told me that I've formatted the partition, after a long

argument, they would fix the laptop if they have a recovery partition !!!.

What shall I do now ??

I googled for G53 recovery disk but no luck finding any thing related.

    Thanx for reading.

No, you're not missing the disk or the partition.

    A) Asus doesn't send out recovery discs, you have to create them when windows loads.

And B) depending on where you got your refurb, they're not obligated to provide you with *any* disks or the original installation. Generally, refurbs are just the hardware.

I just recently recommended that site... the person needed a driver for SD card reader . they paid $$ but did not get what they wanted. It looked legit to me but everything there was available free in other placess. Have you tried the ASUS FTP site? I know it will be tedious dl'ing all the needed drivers but at least it is free! (my favorite price)

Worst case scenario would be either install a copy of win 7 you already have, or purchase a copy (OEM off of newegg or somewhere else).

If you formatted the partition you are SOL.

    @CMfromIL

I haven't touched any partition yet, I already sent my laptop to whats

supposed to be a repairing center.

I know they would blame me if I even tried to re-install windows.

Formatting or re-installing Windows wouldn't void any warranties so you shouldn't be blamed for that.

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but the next time you try and repair or re-install Windows, press F9 at boot. That should take you to the recovery partition.

For what it's worth, I pulled the HD out of my N73SV-A1 yesterday and replaced it with a WD 7200rpm.

I used a win 7 64bit disk I had from a previous build and installed it. I then just used the drivers from the driver disk ASUS provided.

Machine was back and running within 3 hours of HD installation. Plus I don't have all the bloatware now.

Since you sent the computer out, now you just have to wait I guess.

Hope they fix it for you.

your dealer should be able to help you. not sure who you got it from. we store all copies of the hidden recovery partition and provide restoration service free of charge for customers. at the same time asus "may" be able to help you. typically to get help with this type of issue outside your dealer is kind of like pulling teeth
